Hey you,
it’s been a while – again. I’ve been busy with the life in general, but also tried to do some workouts. The current year will hopefully bring more unforgettable memories and running events. My next ultra marathon will be the P-Weg ultra marathon in Plettenberg, Germany. The race will take place already in a week from now. I have been training during the past weeks mainly concentrating on an adequate mileage (from about 40 to 80 km per week) with the most important run being the long run on Sunday.
To find some motivation for the training, I have been adding some variation to the workouts. Thanks to the Deutschland-Ticket I can pretty spontaneously decide on Sunday, where I want to travel by train and then run back home. It has been pretty interesting and one can hardly find any shortcuts so it is guaranteed to get the planned length for a workout. Otherwise I have done some interval training, tempo runs and obviously pretty much workouts with a slow pace, just to get enough mileage, and get accustomed to the ultra marathon grind.
I really love that I get the opportunity to run in a place that I don’t know thoroughly yet. North Rhine-Westphalia as such is partly familiar to me, but mostly only the bigger cities there, such as Cologne. Now I get the opportunity to experience the forests and hills of the area, and I am very delighted for this.
In the following posts I will write about my other running events that I haven’t written about yet. This was a short post, but for me the thing is to get started again, and then the only way is to start writing. Until the next time, Cheers!
