Race ahead – Ahoi!

Hi there,

In a rough two weeks I’ll have another marathon ahead. It will be again in Braunschweig, where I have had nice experiences during the past few years. This time I really would like to go below the 3.15 mark but on the other hand my training has not been as good as I wanted. This and next week will still be fairly intensive ones when it comes to the workouts, and the final week before the marathon, as usually, will be an easier one.

At least I have had a couple of good weeks after the Raate marathon so I’m confident that the condition is getting better and there’s still some time left. My changed strategy lately has been to run the harder workouts with a higher pace whereas the recovering workouts have been easier than before. Let’s see if this has any impact on the performance at the race.

As every autumn, I feel a bit depressed due to the darker evenings and colder and more wet conditions. There’s however anything to be done – at least if you don’t want to move a bit southwards. What is good is that we already have reached the mid-October so the days start get longer pretty soon. 😉

Today’s workout: 7k easy (catching Pokémon during the run 😉
