Hello,
In two weeks, I’ll be a happy marathon finisher once again – I hope. There is not that much to do any more; one just has to be careful that there will be enough time for the old man to recover. During the past two weeks I have had the urge to run faster than I should have done, so I really have to keep my thoughts focused on the upcoming race.
After the tempo run on Wednesday my legs hurt, because I haven’t lately had enough that kind of workouts. Due to that I went for a really peaceful run on Thursday. Yesterday I went for a short run, as I mostly wanted to fetch my bike from the city centre where I had left it in the afternoon. At the beginning I thought I would keep the pace slowish, but in the end I was pushing far more than I had expected. This is OK, as long it does not occur every time. 🙂
I’m really happy that I haven’t had any major problems lately the general health situation seems to be OK as well. Maybe the vitamins and a bit more of sleeps have been beneficial. Also the decreased stress after the finished probation period at work may had played a part in this. The self confidence and the eagerness to start at a marathon race are obviously very good at the moment.
Next week I still can have some hard workouts, but the last week before the marathon is always a demanding one, as the few workouts have to be taken carefully, and also the nutrition and rest have to be considered that it won’t ruin the marathon experience.
Tonight I would like to get an easy workout, but with enough kilometres so that I still can get a stronger foundation for my marathon shape. Tomorrow there will be another long run if everything goes well.
Have a nice weekend!
