Long run and the workouts lately

Hi there,

sorry about the laziness lately, due to which I haven’t written anything for a couple of weeks. I have had two good weeks with workouts and I’m starting to get more confident about the upcoming marathon. Obviously I cannot always fulfil my training program, but I try to concentrate on the key workouts and also keep the recovery in my mind (run enough recovery workouts at a slow tempo etc.).

Tonight I went for a long run, and it was absolutely splendid. The temperature was optimal and due to the humidity the it was pretty easy and pleasant to breathe. I ran the first 19 km at a very slow tempo so that my heart rate was about 130 – 140 hits per minute. During the final 5k I wanted to run fast in order to prepare myself for a quick finish in the next marathon. 🙂 After 24 kilometres I was done and ready to eat!

Next week I’ll target at running 60 – 70 km again. This week it was about 60. The following weeks are essential for the marathon outcome. Let’s see 🙂
