Hi there,

today’s workout was about running a steady longish run with the last miles with a higher pace, i.e. progression run with the target to start slow and finish fast. I have had this kind of workouts a lot too rarely as I really hope that I could benefit from better ability to pick up pace during the final miles of a race.

Today’s weather was really nice – there’s already a hint of summer included. I’m really looking forward to the following weeks with the workouts as the days get longer and warmer. However, the day was not one of the bests when it comes to my energy levels and ability to push myself. Maybe the last two workouts simply were too tough after the illness and I may need a couple of days for the recovery.

I ran about 12k and then tried to pick up the pace, but it was really a struggle today so the pace did not go as high as I wanted. All in all I cannot, however, be very disappointed as now I’m at least feeling myself relatively healthy and going to a right direction.

Now I’m feeling extremely tired so gonna hit the bed soon. A new training week starts with a day off (probably a needed one). On Tuesday there will be something else on the schedule, but I don’t want to think about that yet…
