Good Evening,
as I still haven’t completely recovered, there’s some time to have a look at the future races and strategies. đ If only I’m healthy, I’ll participate on a local event in our neighbourhood – Vahrer-Seen-Lauf.
Vahrer-Seen-Lauf is organised every year on the first Sunday of June and there are two main races – a 10k and 5.5k race plus races for the children of different age. Our neighbourhood is very green and the small lakes – even though not tempting for swimming – form a nice environment for running. The main drawback is that it may be really dusty, if the weather is dry.  Secondly there are plenty of runners, so if one is aiming at a top result, it is important to take a good position in the start grid.  Some parts of the route are pretty narrow and therefore it is is difficult to overtake other runners.
My dream as hobby runner is to run 10k some day under 40 minutes. I don’t know if the goal is realistic at the moment due to that I have been that often ill lately. If I can train the remaining weeks without problems, I think there still is a small chance to reach the target, but let’s see. My training program is provided by Strava: roughly there are four running sessions per week: one long run in the weekend, a tempo run, an interval training plus recovery runs and some further types of training. The main objective is to improve the ability to run relatively quickly for a longer time with a steady pace.

I’m already excited!
