Reset

Having the latest setback – fever and diarrhoea last week – made me rethink about this years’ goals and targets. My following race was supposed to be Famila Lauf in Oldenburg next Sunday. I will still participate, but with rather modest goals. To finish with a reasonable time and not to push to the absolute limits. I still feel weakened by the disease and I obviously won’t be able to reach the best results with the training from past few months. However, it is a good opportunity to get back on track and get a nice running experience. Moreover, I have only done one single half marathon in my life and it should not be too hard a target to improve the best time of 1.54.xx. 🙂

After the Famila Lauf I will aim at reducing my 10k best time to less than 40 minutes. Probably I will participate at Nachtlauf Bremen and Vahrer-Seen-Lauf. Those events hopefully will help to improve the general overall pace and through that also enable better performance at a marathon – latest in Suomussalmi in August.

This sounds like a plan. For the few weeks onwards I’ll continue my 10k program and after that proceed to the marathon training. Strava will help also in this matter.
