I was a bit surprised when I woke up this morning. The workout on Sunday really seemed to have an impact: I did not only have a pair of tired legs, but also a bit sore muscles. That’s why I was fairly satisfied with that today’s run was an easy one. However, it turned out to be a bit quicker when it comes to the pace than expected. I don’t know what’s the reason, but I often have the urge to run quicker after a long run. Maybe I still am not able to push myself to the limit and give everything or enough. 🙂 Anyway it’s not a very wise strategy for running, as when an easy run is scheduled in the training program, the body should be given one.
Lately I have been dreaming about some possible future gear. I’ll probably need a new GPS watch as the battery of my Forerunner 305 is getting weaker and weaker. I’m afraid I won’t be able to finish the Berlin marathon with it, and when you are reaching for a new personal best, this may be pretty frustrating. Vivoactive and Forerunner 225 appear to be interesting devices, but Vivoactive lacks some features for custom trainings (if one does not want to develop them by oneself 🙂 and Forerunner 225 is in my opinion a bit overpriced and does not contain any smartwatch features which I don’t necessarily need, but would be nice to have anyway…
On the other hand I would also need soon a pair of running shoes, preferably from Karhu or Asics if I’m able to find a suitable and affordable pair somewhere. My experiences of Karhu Fulcrum Flow have been great, but the model I own is already a couple of years old, and not very easy to reach. Maybe I’ll have a round in the city some day and have a look at the other shoes as well, like Adidas and New Balance. Let’s see…
