Yesterday I had a progression run scheduled. First a normal long run with easy run tempo and during the last 10 – 15 minutes at a pace of normal 10k race speed. This didn’t work out that well. For some reason I got during the third 5k round a sharp chest pain and figured out I would be better off to have a short break or stop completely.
I decided to have a small break with drinks and a little snack from the organisers of 2. AOK Vorbereitungslauf. This time the event took place in Bürgerpark and the weather was fine as previously. About after 45 mins I was ready to try to run back home and see whether the chest pain still was there. Fortunately the running felt completely normal so I tried to run a bit quicker the final three kilometres and this was ok so I got a better feeling about the whole training than it would have been after a cancelled training.
