Distance: 30.14 km Duration: 2h:37m:25s Average pace: 05:13 min/km Average heart rate: 144
Today there was a long run in the training plan, and as there was a conveniently organised training run for the Bremen marathon by Sport Ziel I figured out it would be a nice way to get a little bit of change for the normal long run accomplished alone. And it sure was – such a nice event and a great weather as well. The start was scheduled to 8 AM so the temperature was still acceptable for running whereas at noon it already was relatively hot.
About the run: during the first 20k I tried to maintain a pace at about 5.15 – 5.30 min/km with the average heart rate of max 140. During the last 10k I attempted to go little faster and finally reach my target marathon pace (about 4.30 – 4.45 min/km). The plan worked out pretty well. Even though the heart rate was the whole time a bit higher than expected it was mostly OK. The reason for the high heart rate was probably that I’m not really accustomed to running during such early hours. All in all it was a really nice training even in that sense as well.
A big thank you to Sport Ziel! See you again in the 2. AOK-Vorbereitungslauf 🙂
